Directions outside Vermont
Montreal/Plattsburgh/Burlington: I-89 South to
Burlington, VT. Take exit for Rte 7 South to Rte. 4, Rutland. Take Rte. 4 West
to Rte. 30, Castleton. Take Rte. 30 South to Poultney.
Eastern PA/NJ/Albany: Garden St. Pkwy North to NY Thruway North I-87. In
Albany, take exit 24 and continue on the Northway, North I-87 to exit 20. Take a
left at the light onto Rte. 9. Proceed to light at Rte. 149 and turn right onto
149. Follow 149 to town of Fort Ann. Turn left onto Rte. 4 North. Proceed to
Rte. 22 South. Follow 22 to blinking light at rte. 22A. Continue on 22A for
approx. 6 miles. Bear right at sign for Poultney and proceed to GMC.
Western CT/NY City: From NY City take the Taconic North to Route 22. From
Western CT, take I-84 west to Route 22 north. Follow Rte 22 North through the
town of Granville. When you pass the McDonald’s in Granville, continue on Rte.
22 North to the blinking light at Rte. 22A. Turn right onto 22A and continue
approx. 6 miles. Bear right at sign for Poultney and continue on to GMC.
NH/Boston: Route 3 or I-93 North to Concord, NH. Take I-89 North to VT.
From I-89 take the Woodstock/Rutland ramp; Rte. 4 exit. Stay on Rte. 4 West
through Rutland (road becomes 4-lane divided hwy). Take Rte. 4 to Rte. 30 South,
Castleton. Follow Rte. 30 South to Poultney.
Directions within Vermont
Burlington: Take Route 7 South. Turn right onto Route
22A in Vergennes. Follow through Fair Haven and New York. Turn left at Poultney
sign. At red blinking light bear right and proceed to GMC.
Brattleboro: In Brattleboro, follow Route 30 North to
Manchester, VT, approximately 40 miles. In Manchester, continue on Route 30
North to Poultney, approximately 30 miles. Once in Poultney, turn left onto Main
Street at red light, follow to end of street, Green Mountain College is across
College Street at the end of Main Street.
Bennington: Route 7 North to Exit 4. Turn left onto
Route 7A. Turn left onto Route 30 North, follow to Poultney, approximately 30
miles. Once in Poultney, turn left onto Main Street at red light, follow to end
of street, Green Mountain College is across College Street at the end of Main
Street.
The Fields
Once your at the college, find the street that goes behind the
obvious row of brick dorms. That street is Rae Terrace (the cross
street to Rae Terrace is College Street).
Go West on Rae Terrace as it winds past the
first field on your right...all the way to the
back parking lot (not the lower lot). Park close to the wind
turbine. The fields are on the other
side of the hill with the turbine.
