Mathematics is a way of thinking and viewing relationships in the world around us.
My background is in probability theory and I am interested in random walks, Brownian motion, and mathematical finance.
Linking mathematics and environmental issues is something that I target in my courses. I have developed a general education Environmental Liberal Arts ( ELA ) course, Environmental Modeling, which focuses on environmental issues, modeling, and mathematical modeling.
I also write a monthly column on mathematics in The Rutland Daily Herald . For more details about the column click here .
April is Mathematics Awareness Month. Click here to go to the official site.
